Christmas Weekend

December 28, 2009

Had a huge weekend. Travelled to Jac’s Christmas arvo, drank a LOT of beer. They had hired a daiquiri machine which Jac gulped down a lot of. This guy called Bozo climbed up the tree inthe middle of the yard to put the christmas lights higher, gotuck up there. It was so peacefull after everyone had left to just sit around the firepot well into the night and watch the embers snake up into the sky. The only drama ws when someone put an unopened can in the fire which eventually blew up. Boxing day was kinda a seedy haze, consumed more beer. Bianca brought her pop some Tiger beer from Cambodia and he gave me a stubby. Tasted nice. We jst sat around drinking and eating bbq food all day. On Sunday we went up the RSL club, ended up somehow participating in a game of bowls. Won a free Cassie Draught stubby. Today we’re just taking it easy. Bring on new years eh. These will be times sorly mssed.

Following on from my blog a while back, just a few of my favorites.

4 DEAD:

50 LIONS:

BLKOUT:

CARPATHIAN:

THE SETUP/IN NAME & BLOOD:

SAMSARA:

SEDUCTION:

That’s it for photo’s of my music collection for now, still to display to all my AFI and Extrotion collections, will probs take a while for me to do that. Today for christmas I got a 3-speed record player, with an included accessory that allows me to connect it to my pc and get the songs on iTunes.

Guess I’ll just leave you with the knowledge of what currently rules my life…..

So DNJ! now has Twitter and I have a new myspace profile.

A last show kinda thang.

I been to a few last shows this year…

I also attended Saxon’s last show with Resilient, which was really fun and consisted of me being the only payer as far as I’m aware, and I saw Spitti play his last show with All Or Nothing in Ringwood.

hmmmmm.

All Time.

December 13, 2009

So after some careful and not so careful thought I’ve finally made a decision on what my all time favorite albums/eps are…

As you can see there is some variation, a lot of this I listened to in grade 8 & 9 but there’s a few from more recent times that just had to go in here

1) AFI – Sing The Sorrow
I’m sure there’s no introductions needed here! AFI continue to blow people away worldwide and I’m just one of them, from their extensive punk beginnings to the beautiful Crash Love released earlier this year, I know I’m just one of many AFI fans. Both lyrically and musically, Sing The Sorrow is huge!

2) Every Time I Die – Gutter Phenomenon
What can I say, groovy? dirty? ballsy? out there? ETID are one of those rare bands that you either catch a hold of and like immensely or regard with pure disgust. Or both. A party album for all.

3) Lostprophets – Start Something
A little gem in my collection of favorites, before opting to take the path of a much poppier punk sound Lostprophets released this much darker and more energetic, and very underrated album.

4) Carpathian – Isolation
Need I say more? If it wasn’t for PWD these guys would be the staples of Australian hardcore. It took a while to grow on me but Isolation is what it is, a brilliant album that will well outlive it’s time.

5) Blink-182 – The Mark, Tom and Travis Show: The Enema Strikes Back!
Honestly, if you want an introduction to this I ask you to slap yourself. A worldwide phenomenon, and for good reason!

6) Pro Team – Our Wasteland EP
Anyone that is involved with Aussie hardcore will know why this little beauty is in here. Too bad they broke up shortly after it’s release but in my books this EP is a timeless hardcore classic.

7) Her Nightmare – Come Anarchy, Come Ruin
Mosh! I just had to include this.

8) The Ataris – So Long, Astoria
A pop-punk classic. Complete with an amazing cover of Don Henly’s “Boys of Summer”, it includes everything to make a great pop-punk album great.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing any of these, get on it now!
